The Deaya dance, known in English as the Warrior dance is usually performed during the funerals of great and elderly people. It has it’s roots in ancestral warrior dance during battles and hunting among the Frafra people of the Upper East region of Ghana.
This was during the Nongre Deaya, Bukere in Bolga. Deaya, was usually performed only during funerals, but the youth want us to enjoy the deaya dance without mourning.
